Gala of Dutch Dance
Just a few more weeks before the final programme of the Dutch Dance Festival is made known. Proudly, we can already share that Ed Wubbe, artistic director of Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, is responsible for the evening. He has invited three choreographers to create a work on three brand new compositions made by Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL)! The Symphony Orchestra of Limburg will perform these compositions and will guide the three world premieres. On top of that, the dance awards the Swans are awarded to the most impressive dancer and dance production of the past season.
Gala: October 2, Maastricht

Blade Runner of Erik Kaiel
Last year,  Erik Kaiel won the Award of the Dutch Dance Festival Maastricht. He returns to the festival this year with a unique performance in a former carpenter factory. Blade Runner (working title) deals with the value of physical presence in communication. No mobile phones, no mail, no twitter or facebook, but individuals, sharing space. The audience is invited by the actors and dancers in this extraordinatory festival production to follow them on their journey straight through the factory.

Holland Festival
During Holland Festival (June 1-23) French choreographer Boris Charmatz honours dance icon Merce Cunningham with the performance 50 years of dance. The Holland Festival is broadcasted and in one of these broadcasts Peggy Olislaegers is interviewing Charmatz. This lively conversation gives insight in the work of the artist. Have  a look on NED2 on Thursday June 3, at 23.00h.www.hollandfestival.nl
