ND 2016
The year 2016 marks an important moment within Dutch dance with tough changes, due to financial cuts in the cultural sector. Whether they are stormy or calm, changes go along with a roughness that makes it urgent to stand still, look back and ahead.
This 19th edition, the festival is even more going to be a place for connection and getting together to enjoy, meet and get inspired. During three consecutive festival days, Dutch dance will be shown in all his appearances at special locations in Maastricht. From Urban dance to ballet and from modern dance to avant-garde. Starting this edition, we will speak out a State of Dutch Dance every year. In this state an answer will be shared to the current state of the Dutch dance sector and what needs to change to make the sector more strong, safe and diverse.
