Intrigued by the moment when the power of nature changes from being liberating to being a threat, Hilde Elbers and Heather Ware will make a solo for each other. They will surprise each other every day with a task, not in one studio in Maastricht, but more than 7000 kilometres away from each other. They will share their considerations and choices as choreographer and dancer with the audience via a livestream between their studios in Maastricht and Banff, Canada. The audience will be able to follow the work process and the performances that arise from them live in Hilda’s temporary studio in Maastricht and with a live connection with Heather in Canada.
Heather Ware and Hilde Elbers are two outstanding dancers in the Dutch dance landscape. Heather, who trained at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and at the Rotterdam Dance Academy (now Codarts) has been one of the leading dancers for LeineRoebana for fifteen years. She received a Swan in 2010 for the Most Impressive Achievement in Dance. Hilde trained at the Fontys Dance Academy and between 2003 and 2014 she added colour to work from the likes of Conny Janssen, T.r.a.s.h. and Itzik Galili and she became a star dancer for Constanza Macras.
