changeMakers: First contributions by our context researchers
During changeMakers, two context researchers work in parallel with the five makers to give the exhibition a socio-cultural and dance-historical perspective. You can read their first contributions below.
Asmara Pelupessy is writing a series of texts under the heading *Citations for Decolonial Heritage Work* exploring emerging notions of learning and praxis within the cultural heritage field. Her first text, change(ability) :: (ex)change, offers critical reflections about the exhibition and decolonial heritage practices.
Kareth Schaffer investigates five seminal Indonesian-inspired dance performances produced in the Netherlands across the 20th and 21st centuries. These works reimagined relationships between the Netherlands and its (former) colony, moving beyond a reductive colonial gaze and opening space for layered historic, social, and diasporic perspectives. Her first text is about God Shiva, featuring Raden Mas Jodjana directed by Bert Haanstra.
