dansWEB

With dansWEB, we make dance accessible to everyone, especially those for whom it is not a given. Images tell this story more powerfully than words. Discover the power of dance in the documentary Er begint iets te spelen... and then read more about dansWEB.

The power of dance

The goal of dansWEB is to give everyone access to dance. Especially groups for whom access to dance is not self-evident and for whom the power of dance can have a positive effect. Everyone can get moving through danceWEB in a way that suits them. Because dance and movement can give everyone pleasure. Because they make you aware of your body and what it can do. Because sometimes your body can tell you what you cannot put into words.

With dansWEB we let elderly people, people with disabilities and children and young people in special education experience the power of dance for themselves, as a means of communication and an instrument to express themselves. As an introduction to dance or as a deepening of the dance experience, we activate diverse communities in Maastricht.

DansWEB documentary 2024

Muzikanten, spelers, verzorgers en mensen uit het woonzorgcentrum dansen hand in hand met elkaar en worden aangemoedigd door enkele andere bewoners.

The power of collaboration

We join forces with the elderly care umbrella organizations Envida and Sevagram, Cultuurmakers Maastricht, Stichting Adelante and Buurttheater Maastricht and (special) education specialists from the Maasgouw (Adelante) and Kaleidoscope as a connector to South Limburg education. We also work with a number of dance companies with a specialization in working with the elderly, with people with disabilities or with children. The experience of PRA Muziektheater, DADOdans and SALLY Dansgezelschap Maastricht is of great value within danceWEB. Other dance content partners are various dance vocational schools.

With these partners, we enable all participants to participate in a way that suits them. To this end, all kinds of activities take place in their own environment. For example, care centers, special education institutions or locations for elderly care. Here, danceWEB facilitates warm-ups, dance cafes, workshops and performances. Participants play an active role as viewers, participants and makers, online and offline, alone or with each other. No one has to stand or sit still. Everything happens under the guidance of professionals from dance, healthcare and special education.
