Dansdagen in the region
Dance moves, touches, and connects. In a time when the need for cultural connection is growing, Nederlandse Dansdagen is committed to bringing dance even closer to people - throughout the entire country. That's why we're expanding: from Maastricht to the region.

The Nederlandse Dansdagen (ND) is the festival that celebrates the richness of Dutch dance – from classical ballet to hip-hop, from established names to emerging talents. Every year, we bring the best of Dutch dance to Maastricht in a vibrant festival full of performances, encounters, and stories. But it doesn't stop there: from now on, the Nederlandse Dansdagen marks the starting point for the Dansdagen throughout the Netherlands.
As a national platform, Nederlandse Dansdagen aims to increase the impact of dance on society through the Dansdagen. We believe that collaboration with local partners, the stimulation of regional dance hubs, and joint promotion of dance are essential to achieving this. With that belief, we are building a network of regional editions in which local strength and national visibility come together. In doing so, we ensure that dance is close – both literally and figuratively.
Maastricht remains the beating heart of the festival and serves as the launching point for this new movement. From there, a ripple effect unfolds: in other parts of the Netherlands, the festival continues on a local level. In this way, we bring dance to new audiences and harness its power to connect, making a positive contribution to society.
Together, we take steps toward a vibrant dance culture in every region –
step by step, city by city.
Dansdagen Enschede
In collaboration with Nederlandse Dansdagen, Wilminktheater en Muziekcentrum Enschede will present the Dansdagen Enschede from October 17 to 19. The program ranges from main stage performances by renowned companies to surprising pop-up shows in the heart of Enschede. The danstent will also make an appearance in Enschede. This mirrored tent on the Oude Markt will be a welcoming space offering free activities as a gift to the city. Think of social dance evenings, kids' disco, chair yoga, workshops, and performances by local Enschede dance groups.
