The European Dancehouse Network last year (Nov. 15, 2022) released this publication on the relationship between dance and sustainability. What are we talking about in a non-scenic performing arts practice like dance when we want to take action on environmental sustainability? The paper provides references, context and examples of how and where dance touches on the climate crisis and what practical measures are effective. This publication is the starting point for this roundtable discussion on the state of play in the Netherlands.
NAPK and de Nederlandse Dansdagen invite you to discuss Dutch practice from different perspectives with colleagues and peers. What actions can you take tomorrow?
Moderator Ryanne de Boer, sustainability quartermaster at NAPK (see NAPK.nl/sustainability), will lead the conversation with attendees and panelists Suzy Blok (ICK Amsterdam and member European Dancehouse Network), Nicole Beutler (NBProjects) and Andreas Denk (Plan-d-), among others.
During a NAPK Featured, good practices of NAPK members are given a stage. We offer in-depth information on current topics within the association and the field. These include the themes of social safety, sustainability, diversity & inclusion, internationalization and digitization. NAPK Uitgelicht is also a time to exchange experiences and knowledge with your colleagues in the performing arts sector, meet new people and strengthen cooperation.
