About Jordy
Jordy Dik is a choreographer and community artist who pushes the boundaries of dance and theater with his work. Driven by a deeply rooted love for community and humanity, he creates encounters where vulnerability and strength merge. His artistic signature is characterized by a raw, poetic, and captivating approach, where dance is not only a form of beauty, but an expression of a profound desire for connection and a celebration of being human.
As co-founder and artistic director of Compagnie Tiuri – the leading inclusive dance theater company that has enchanted the Netherlands in recent years with its groundbreaking productions (BNG Bank Dance Award ‘23) – he travels across the country with his unique performers, both with and without disabilities, to bring more color to the world. Jordy has a passion for developing new, inclusive, and choreographic methods that work for every person in the world, such as the Relational Choreography. He believes that a successful method must create something new, making it applicable to everyone. Additionally, he is the artistic director of Stichting DIK Danstheater, which uses dance and music in large-scale community projects throughout Europe, aiming to move people towards their inner freedom.
His work goes beyond the stage. Jordy fell in love with the camera and now also creates dance films and documentaries. His latest film is A Bird Named Mansour, an emotional and cinematic encounter between Compagnie Tiuri and Shechter II of the renowned Hofesh Shechter Company. With his artistic vision and passion, he fights for a world full of harmony, freedom, and expression.
