Ensemble Oxygen
Ensemble Oxygen has been nominated for the Young Swan Award for Most Impressive Youth Dance Achievement of 2026 for their role in The Rise by Jennifer Romen (Oxygen and Senf Theater).
Jury about the nomination
“In The Rise, we see six young dancers who know exactly what they're doing. Their movements are precise, and their timing is spot-on to the millisecond. This is an ensemble so perfectly in sync that you can't distinguish them as individual dancers but experience them as a single unit.
The choreography uses repetition and variation in a way that keeps you engaged. It’s always just a little different, just a little further. The cinematic documentary elements add a second layer to the whole piece: as an audience member, you get a glimpse behind the scenes, and that works well.
According to the jury, the strength of this performance lies not in any single dancer, but in the collective: the precision, concentration, synchrony, and collective power of execution are what make this performance what it is.
What Oxygen brings to the stage is sleek, unique, and unforgettable. Multiple dancers moving as a single unit. Beautiful!”

“Six dancers moving as one. In Oxygen’s The Rise, the timing is precise down to the millisecond, the energy is infectious, and as a whole, they are tight, razor-sharp, and unique. The collective is the performance itself.”
