Zeg maar dag (4+) by Art Wutthinan Srisayam and Sara Giampaolo
"Zeg maar dag” (4+) by Art Wutthinan Srisayam and Sara Giampaolo (Maas Theater en Dans) has been nominated for the Young Swan Award for Most Impressive Youth Dance Production of 2026.
Jury over de nominatie
“Zeg maar dag" is about saying goodbye and is intended for children ages four and up. It’s a big theme for a young audience. The performers in this show handle it in a poetic and playful way. They are sincere and offer comfort, allowing children and their caregivers to be fully drawn into the theme.
We see three men on stage who radiate care. The performers are genuine and transparent. Choreography and acting blend seamlessly together. The set appears simple but is used in increasingly surprising ways. It stimulates the imagination without overwhelming it. Romano Haynes deserves special mention because, as an actor, he knows how to flawlessly incorporate the language of dance into a holistic experience.
The interaction with the audience is intense and powerful: the children take the stage with confidence. You have to earn that confidence, and that's what happens in 'Zeg maar dag'. It's a performance with depth and lighthearted moments that touches the heart without becoming too heavy.”
