About Matilde Tommasini
Matilde Tommasini is a 27 years old contemporary dancer originally from Italy. She
graduated at Codarts Rotterdam in 2017 and started her freelance career right after that. Her path in the dutch dance world started in Amenti Collective founded by Gil The Grid, a dance company who blends street dance, contemporary and conscious art. The confrontations and exchange with different artists with various dance backgrounds created the space for growth and discovery she can still say is evolving her to the day of today. Beside the collective she worked as a performer with different choreographers around North Europe Like Maura Morales, MITS collective, Jefta Tanate, Astrid Boons and Jasper Van Luik where she could further research and evolve her movement. Because of her experiences as a mover and the people she has around her she would say her artistry has one important value and that is authenticity. To the day of today her movement language became a very tidy chaos, where she keeps on finding precision in explosivity and limits to the extremity of the body always with a very deep and intentional connection to music.
