About Jungyoon Kim

South Korean dancer Jungyoon Kim (Seoul, 2002) studied at Seoul Arts High School and the Korea National University of Arts. She has been a member of Scapino Ballet Rotterdam since 2025. For Jungyoon, dance is a powerful form of expression that goes beyond words. She explores both refined and powerful qualities of movement and uses her body to convey emotions in a layered and open way.  In doing so, she seeks to connect with the audience and wants to share warmth, energy, and positivity. As an artist, she is curious, dedicated, and always seeking greater depth. Even outside of dance, she draws inspiration from other art forms, including writing, photography, film, and visual arts. What drew her to Scapino is the company’s positive and people-oriented spirit. She views her time at Scapino as a journey of continuous growth, collaboration, and artistic development.
