The Virtual Residencies makers 2023
During the upcoming edition of the Nederlandse Dansdagen you will experience dance live on stages in Maastricht and online from Maastricht. The online stage will include three new Virtual Residencies.

Talented young makers will present their (research) projects in these Residencies. For this edition, the following artists are selected: Charlotte Goesaert (PLAN Talentontwikkeling Brabant), Sary Mathrath (Korzo), Olympia Kotopoulos & Veerle Van Overloop (Moving Futures). On Saturday, September 30, the Virtual Residencies will premiere not only online, but also live (on-screen).
About the Virtual Residencies
The Virtual Residencies project was initiated by Dutch Dance Days in 2018 as an investigation into remote co-creation using digital media by the creators. The makers involved at the time were Hilde Elbers and Heather Ware. The concept came from DansBrabant, which was also co-producer. Due to the irreversible digitization wave that emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, Nederlandse Dansdagen decided to continue the project. The selected creators are given a broadly formulated assignment: to create something for a digital platform. This way they keep the artistic freedom to follow their own urgencies and work out-of-the-box.
Virtual Residencies 2023
The Virtual Residencies can be viewed online, on demand, starting September 30, 11:00 am. At the same time, the live presentation can be attended, in the presence of the makers at De Ruimte of SNS in Maastricht. For the selection of the makers, Nederlandse Dansdagen collaborates with three organizations that collectively span a large part of talent development in dance, namely Moving Futures, Korzo and PLAN Talentontwikkeling Brabant. The online festival can be attended for free after registering.
