Nomination round Innovation Award Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht 2024 launched
From today, it is possible to nominate choreographers for the Innovation Prize Dutch Dance Days Maastricht.

The Innovation Award Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht highlights current developments and exceptional talent and focuses on all disciplines within the Dutch dance sector. The amount of money available is € 25,000 and is made possible by the Municipality of Maastricht.
Which choreographer will you nominate?
The Nederlandse Dansdagen is calling on dance lovers and dance professionals to nominate choreographers for the Innovation Award Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht. Which upcoming choreographer knows how to surprise and touch you with his/her work? Who do you think deserves a push to create new work and premiere it during the Nederlandse Dansdagen 2025? Important criteria are that choreographers have already realised a number of eye-catching projects, but do not yet receive a structural subsidy. Both choreographers who make independent productions and choreographers who create work with companies can be nominated. One condition is that they have been working in the Netherlands for some time. Choreographers who were nominated or nominated in previous years may also compete again for the award. Previous winners are excluded from nominations.
A jury will ultimately nominate three creators from the entries who will pitch their idea for a new performance. The choreographer with the best, most innovative idea will go home with the prize and can get to work creating a new work. Leading up to the premiere moment during the Nederlandse Dansdagen 2025, the winning creator will also receive a spot at the festivals schrit_tmacher and The Notorious IBE.

Winner 2023 - Junadry Leocaria
Junadry Leocaria won the 2023 Innovation Award Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht. Her new work Mi Pret'i wowo (the apple of my eye) will premiere at the Nederlandse Dansdagen in 2024.
