Panel discussion: Performing the Archive - Emancipation, liberation, self-determination

Through dance, we experience and express our identity. Dance can empower, liberate, and underscore our self-determination. But how does this actually work? How are dance, culture, and identity intertwined? And what role can the archiving of dance play in passing on these unique qualities of dance to future generations?  

 Fransien van der Putt and Guido Jansen will discuss this topic with performer and dramaturg Renée Copraij, choreographer Mohamed Yusuf Boss, and artist Ciro Goudsmit. Publicist Jordi Ribot Thunnissen recently completed his dissertation on the poetics of Hans Van Manen and will explain how efforts to keep his work alive relate to this theme.  ​​​​
