At DANSLOKAAL, you’ll discover the future of Dutch dance. In Conny Janssen Danst’s annual talent hub, talented creators are invited to develop new work with the dancers of the Rotterdam-based company. For each edition, artistic director and leading choreographer Conny Janssen, in collaboration with Dansateliers and Korzo, invites a unique mix of talent. For DANSLOKAAL 14, these are Lea Ved, Amparo González Sola and Maciej Kuźmiński. The dance creators are given the opportunity to work on developing their own style within the company’s professional setting. The result is a surprising trilogy featuring new work by three idiosyncratic yet sensitive dance creators.

Lea Ved (Korzo)

Lea Ved has a remarkable ability to notice the subtle nuances of everyday life and translate them into choreography that is both emotionally and meticulously crafted. As an artist, she invites the audience to pause for a moment and observe closely. In her work, human themes are brought to life through the language of contemporary dance.

Amparo González Sola (Dansateliers)

The work of the Argentine choreographer Amparo González Sola stands out for the way it invites us to slow down. Through gestures and movements, she constructs a physical language of movement centred on muscle tension and transformation. As a member of the audience, you become aware of your own body and ask yourself: How are we here and now?

Maciej Kuźmiński (Winnaar Conny Janssen Danst Partner Award bij RIDCC 2025)

Social and political themes are often hidden within Maciej Kuźmiński’s work. He skilfully translates these themes and the emotions they evoke onto the stage with compassion. As a result, his productions are intensely expressive and spark curiosity.
