BUSHIDŌ – Nina Dumoulin
Following her debut performance, TIME, at the Dutch Dance Days 2024, Maastricht-based choreographer Nina Dumoulin returns with a new piece exploring existential courage: the courage to be completely yourself. She presents this powerful yet vulnerable piece using the movement language of waacking, which in turn draws inspiration from martial arts and the values of the samurai: the bushidō. Nina applies the balance these styles strive for – between discipline, precision and inner peace – to create a unique style of her own, which seamlessly connects traditions of the past and present, East and West.

IGNIS – Zoë Greten
Zoë Greten, originally from Kerkrade and winner of the 2025 Leo Spreksels Award, returns to the Danskerk with IGNIS, her own performance about female anger. In a world where many women still have to tread carefully, anger is often silenced, dismissed or suppressed. IGNIS presents this anger not as something destructive, but as a powerful response to injustice and a source of dignity, vulnerability and transformation. A fire which, when given space, can lead to freedom.

A Breath of Oxygen – OXYGEN
A Breath of Oxygen invites you into the world of OXYGEN. A piece created by the dancers themselves, each bringing their own signature style and character, whilst at the same time moving as a single entity; driven by trust, connection and years of shared experience. One of the dancers is 18-year-old Jaïra Joy from Maastricht, who last year became the first woman ever to win the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition in Los Angeles. This immense talent shines as part of OXYGEN at the Danskerk. Surprising and designed to stimulate the senses and allow you to catch your breath. The OXYGEN ensemble has been nominated for a Zwaan award.
