Featuring new work by three young, up-and-coming choreographers
Meet a new generation of dance makers in the 13th edition of DANSLOKAAL, Conny Janssen Danst's annual talent development project. Each edition, artistic director and leading choreographer Conny Janssen, in collaboration with Korzo and Dansateliers, invites a special variety of talented makers to develop new work. In this edition, these are choreographers Andrea Costanzo Martini, Faizah Grootens and Sheree Lenting. They get the chance to work within the professional context of the Rotterdam company to develop their own signature. The result is a surprising performance with three new works, made for and with the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst.

ANDREA COSTANZO MARTINI
With his catchy work, Andrea has his own style in which humour and communication play significant roles. Not only communication between the dancers; his work is also a dialogue with the audience. I am eager to discover how Andrea, in cooperation with the Conny Janssen Danst dancers, creates a new narrative.
FAIZAH GROOTENS
Faizah Grootens brings a unique and powerful perspective to the stage. Inspired by her Curaçaoan and Caribbean background, she intertwines a variety of dance styles and turns them into a distinctive signature, full of rhythm, intensity and eloquence. She creates choreographies that touch, excite, and continue to fascinate you. In her work, she combines contemporary dance, social importance and fervour, turning each performance into a compelling and intense experience. I am curious about her next steps.
SHEREE LENTING
Sheree is a storyteller pur sang. She captures personal stories with strength and gives a voice to the people. With a strong vision, she highlights histories that, ever so often, remain underexposed; she, effortlessly, connects past, present and future. In doing so, she grants her audience, her team and herself more extensive perspectives on history, traditions and the future.
