Het Nationale Ballet | Hans van Manen
Déjà vu

‘Déjà vu’. Those words surfaced in a number of reviews of Hans van Manen's ballets in the early 1990s. No matter how much praise there was for the master choreographer's work, some scribes said he repeated himself too much. The critical note did not fall on deaf ears: Van Manen struck back mercilessly with a sublime and virtuoso duet in which he captured the essence of human relationships in dance with razor-sharp precision like no other. In just twelve minutes, he sketches a breathtaking field of tension between power struggles and intimate solidarity.

Introdans | Lucinda Childs
Canto Ostinato

American choreographer Lucinda Childs is also known as the queen of minimalist dance. She turned 85 this year, which Introdans celebrated in a big way last spring with the focus programme ICOON, a tribute to this ‘grand lady’ of American dance. Childs' movement language is completely unique: in an abstract, almost mathematical way, she creates the most complex masterpieces with relatively simple ballet and athletic movements. Her work demands the utmost from the dancers, maximally dancing to minimal music. For the audience, Canto Ostinato has a meditative effect.

Introdans | Adriaan Luteijn
Iungo

Iungo’ is the Latin word for ‘I bring together / I connect’, and that is exactly what choreographer Adriaan Luteijn can do like no other. In his series De Ontmoeting - of which Iungo is a part - he and Introdans have been bringing people from different physical, social and cultural backgrounds together with academically trained modern professional dancers for more than 25 years. The aim is to show that dance is for everyone and that dancers who do not fit the standard picture can also touch and amaze their audience. In this edition of Iungo, Introdans dancers meet two guest dancers who each excel in their own way: presenter/writer Eva Eikhout and Ugandan modern dancer Joseph Tebandeke.

Zero Dance Theatre | Denden Karadeniz
Oasis

In the captivating dance performance 'Oasis,' choreographer and dancer Denden Karadeniz invites audiences to reflect on their own oasis. Where do you find solace in this world, and can you truly be yourself? This exhilarating experience raises essential questions in a time of increasing social complexity, translated through a unique blend of diverse dance styles and backgrounds that converge into a highly physical movement vocabulary. Your own oasis is a vital space, as the freedom to express oneself seems to become more challenging in today’s world. In an age where constant connectivity often leads to division and individualism, we sometimes find ourselves at odds, avoiding meaningful dialogue, reacting defensively, and becoming embittered. Each person is unique, yet we all yearn to be ourselves in a safe and nurturing environment.
