Nederlandse Dansdagen 2002
To compose the program of Nederlandse Dansdagen in 2002, the selection committee visited not only performances from renowned companies, but also work from promising newcomers and not to mention youth productions. In this way, the festival can accurately represent the diversity of Dutch dance.
The selection process became intensive, and the following questions were asked repeatedly: What makes a performance a highlight? Does a performance add to the Dutch dance landscape or to the oeuvre of a maker? Based on current themes, interesting qualities, risky collaborations or surprising movement idioms, eventually fourteen choreographies were chosen from more than 165 premieres of the ‘01/’02 season. This fifth edition of the Nederlandse Dansdagen represents the vitality of Dutch dance in all its forms and styles.
