Nederlandse Dansdagen 2006
There are many faces to dance in the Netherlands. In recent decades, the strong tradition of virtuoso dance has been enriched by the work of choreographers who take very different paths. Abstract or theatrical, pure body language or combinations with text and video – the variety seen in the dance landscape in the Netherlands is wide.
The program of Nederlandse Dansdagen in 2007 reflects the communal vision of Dutch Dance in the eyes of four festival directors who together represent an extremely broad spectrum of ideas about dance: Samuel Wuersten, Simon Dove, Luuk van Eijk and Leontien Wiering. The communal vision is the result of the dialogue the programmers had after travelling the length and breadth of the country to watch all this year’s Dutch premieres.
